O Centro de Desenvolvimento Inovador de Medicamentos e Ensaios Terapêuticos para África (CDT-Africa) is a World Bank supported Africa centreof excellence for higher education and research at the College of Health Sciences, Addis Ababa University, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The Centre aims to improve access to health care through novel medical discoveries (medicines, vaccines, diagnostics, care delivery mechanisms) supported by clinical trials.As one of the main strategies to achieve this goal,the Center is providing Master’s program in Clinical Trials, the first of its kind the Region.
The program’s overall aim is to prepare competent individuals who would work in research institutions, academia, pharmaceutical industries, regulatory agencies, contract research organizations, and other study centres, with the primary objective of assisting with the designing, execution and reporting of clinical trials pertaining to drugs, diagnostics, vaccines, behavioural interventions and medical devices commensurate with good clinical practice, legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements.
Um candidato deve ter um Bacharel em saúde ou ciências da vida, como farmácia, saúde pública, enfermagem, biologia, doutorado em medicina ou equivalente, médico de medicina dentária e médico de medicina veterinária. Aqueles com Bacharel em Estatística também são elegíveis.
Others with additional qualifications with or without Bachelor Degree in the life sciences may be eligible if relevant further qualifications are obtained. Examples of such qualifications are Master of public health, MSc in pharmacy, MSc in pharmacology, MSc in statistics, and doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
Como este é um programa baseado em necessidades, é desejável que os candidatos tenham um ou dois anos de serviço após a última graduação com um programa relevante para ter a exposição a desafios reais antes de ingressar no programa.

O inglês é o meio de educação e os candidatos devem demonstrar conhecimento suficiente de inglês.
All institutions within Africa are eligible to apply for the program, although priority may begiven to national and regional partners of CDT Africa.
The MSc program is designed to meet the highest international standards of training for MSc in Clinical Trials. It is a two years program with 96 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) consisting of 59 ECTS general and specialized subject area modules,2 ECTS seminar works, 5 ECTS attachments, and 30ECTS MSc research project work.
O programa será entregue em tempo integral em uma abordagem de ensino de blocos modulares.
Lectures will be held at the College of Health Sciences, Addis Ababa University, while students will have hands-on teaching-learning experience at different research projects of the Center as well as partner institutions.
The Center will pay for any required registration fee.
O Centro terá um financiamento modesto para apoiar projetos de pesquisa de todos os alunos.
Any student coming from countries outside Ethiopia will have a dormitory within Addis Ababa University and a monthly living allowance of net 10, 000 Ethiopian birrfor male and 13,000 for female students.
Outros estudantes nacionais são obrigados a ter patrocínio de suas instituições.
